(Saturday around noon we packed my bike with my new picnic basket (got it for my birthday), a blanket, some sandwiches, lots of water and our tenis rackets. The idea was to ride our bikes to the park (about 5 miles) then play some tennis, then ride back and jump in the swimming pool, so that was our triathlon. )
(The day started a bit hot and humid and when we got to the park we had some water and sandwiches, cooled down the continue to play tennis for 30 - 40 minutes... Do have to say that my bike is a tad bit heavy and with the cargo on the uphill was bit too much, but pull through and never got off the bike... I'm so proud of myself.)
(I don't have pictures of the tennis game nor the swimming pool but I promise we did do it.)

Costillas y escoba (Rib night and a game of "Escoba")
(Dave marinated a baby back rib rack on Thursday night to eat on Friday night, then our friend Mike showed up with two more racks on Friday and as you can see there was food for a legion, and there was only three of us... yeah 4 days after we are still eating them and they are still very good and amazingly we are not tired of eating them... go figure.)
Hummm!
(He is really good at grilling meats, really good!)
(Those who were not cooking had to do something to kill some time.)
Mike completed the dish with some beans, potato salad, pasta salad, coleslaw salad and Dave made some hush puppies and I just smile while drinking my beer...)
(After a very heavy dinner we played some "escoba", a Spanish game with the Spanish cards along with after dinner drinks. Mike is a fan of the game since we introduced it about a month ago, and to my surprise I have not been able to win a game since then... hummm!. Dave did manage to "get" Mike to reveal his technique at the end of the game. All in all it was a great night with delicious food and very interesting and intense game of "escoba".)

Boulder, Colorado
(From the 13th - 14th of May I was in a conference in Boulder, CO and from the 15th - 17th we took some mini vacations. At Denver's airport waiting for the rental car.)
Primera cerveza en Boulder. (First beer in Boulder.)
Vista desde nuestra ventana. (View from our room window.)
(After some snacks and wine with the conference people we went to a ball game... Astros got spanked...)
(After the game and since we were in Denver we went for a ride around downtown to see Dever at night)
(After the coference we went for a walk to the Farmer's Market and surroundings.)
Parque cerca del mercado. (Park close to the Farmer's Market.)
(The conference was done and Friday morning we went to Denver to see the city during the day, then headed to Estes Park towards the Rocky Mountains.)
(Estes Park is a small town about 4 miles from the Rocky Mountain Nat. Park, and this is their main street.)
(Dave checking on Mike and Bruno, Mike took care of Bruno while we were there, Hi Mike!)
(Out trail to the hotel had great views of the river.)
Dave no se supone que hagas esos... (Dave you are not supposed to do that...)
(On Saturday we went into the park to see the views of the mountains and to hike for a bit.)
(To our surprise there was still a bit of snow on the side of the road and trails, but the views were still great and snow never really bother me that much.)
(On a bench contemplating the view... 2 or 3 feet of snow.)
Caminando al lago Fern. (Hiking to Fern Lake.)
Lago Fern. (At Fern Lake)
Si mucha nieve (Yeah a lot of snow)
Lago Bear. Bear Lake.
(I didn't give it any food, but these things are not afraid of people at all.)
Hombre de nieve en el Lago Bear. (Snowman at Bear Lake... I wonder if he is still there...hummm)
(For a good portion of the trail we were very close to the edge of water and ice...)
(We got a bit too close to the water and it looked a bit sketchy so I decided to move to higher ground... big mistake, a few feet of snow and some cold and wet feet I got back into the trail.)
